Kamio divided the space into three main areas: a window-side lounge, a center symbol tree table, and a big communicative counter. Each area serves a specific purpose, offering employees a variety of spaces to work, relax, and collaborate.
What sets Garden Love Clue apart is its emphasis on bringing the outdoors inside. Rather than simply placing green planters on the floor, Kamio has hung most of the planters from the ceiling using steel and wooden framing ladders. By strategically mixing the positions of the ceiling spotlights and the hanging planters, the design team has created a natural ambiance reminiscent of sunlight filtering through a forest.
Furthermore, Garden Love Clue incorporates a combination of natural and artificial elements. The floor and wall surfaces feature stone and steel textures, adding depth and complexity to the design. This blend of materials creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, making the office space more than just a place to work.
The technical specifications of Garden Love Clue include a floor area of 90.18 square meters. The project was realized between May and August 2021 in Tokyo, Japan, and involved a design team consisting of Takuji Kamio, Takayuki Fujiwara, and Ray Keida.
One of the main challenges faced during the project was how to seamlessly integrate office functions, such as power outlets, without disrupting the natural aesthetic. The team successfully achieved this by embedding these elements into furniture, floors, and walls, ensuring a clean and cohesive design.
Garden Love Clue is a testament to the evolving nature of office spaces in the wake of the pandemic. By incorporating elements of nature and creating a park-like environment, Kamio has reimagined the traditional office, providing a space that is both functional and inspiring.
